Auto Shop

If you’re reading this and thinking you need to get your car fixed, don’t worry. It’s not that kind of auto shop. The Auto Shop I’m talking about is an event space where YOU can host your next wedding. The name actually came to be because this event space actually used to be an auto body shop. Since then, the entire space has been reinvented for you to host your wedding (or any event). Located within the Union Market District, Auto Shop features a main open floor, a second level with flexible partitions and an outdoor terrace overlooking the Capitol and Union Market. This makes for the perfect wedding venue if you’re looking for something open with a ton of space for guests and somewhere where you can get creative.

Some of the amenities included if you were to book your wedding at Auto Shop are:

  • 150 seated max guest capacity (400 standing)
  • Flexible floor plans
  • Outdoor event space
  • Wifi included
  • ADA Accessible
  • Opportunities to partner with Union Market vendors

The Smithsonian Museum

One of DC’s biggest attractions is definitely The Smithsonian Museum. For those of you who don’t know, The Smithsonian is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex. It comprises 21 museums and the National Zoo! Founded in 1846, the Smithsonian has continued to grow and flourish into the landmark that it is today. Since it does have such a rich history, there is no question why you would want to have your wedding here.

The real question though, is where? There are many event spaces located at The Smithsonian, some of those including The Smithsonian Castle, National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of African Art, Anacostia Community Museum, and the National Museum of Natural History. While of course, I wish I could deep dive into every single event space, I would be here until Christmas. Regardless, there are plenty of spaces to choose from, depending on what you’re looking for on your wedding day. To explore more of their event spaces, click here! While each event space offers different amenities, one thing is true. Each one of them is just as unique as the other and you will NEVER get bored… that’s for sure. If you want to book your wedding at The Smithsonian, get in contact with the special events team here!
