Summer Wedding in Pennsylvania

Weddings

Do you know how people say that love finds you in unexpected ways? For Justin & Meghan, that is EXACTLY how their love story came to be. Now here we are, looking back on this summer wedding in Pennsylvania to celebrate M & J and their love story.

Meghan & Justin’s Love Story

Justin & Meghan actually went to high school together, but due to the 3 year age gap, they never actually spoke until college. After his persistence in pursuing Meghan, she eventually caved and agreed to hang out with him. They attended a country concert, and their fate was then sealed. From that day on, these two became inseparable and were enjoying life… together.

One day, when they went to downtown Knoxville, both of their lives would change forever. With a slight change of plans, Justin had to improvise his proposal. He ended up proposing in the first bar they went to on their vacation in Knoxville! Completely surprised and caught off guard, you can imagine what the answer was.

Getting Ready

Starting off strong, we began with Megan getting ready with her bridesmaids. During this time, I usually suggest that all of my couples have details that they want to be photographed prepped & ready for when I arrive. That way, while everyone is getting ready, I can make sure to catch some of those memorable details that you don’t want to miss. Items like jewelry, shoes, invitations, florals, wedding dress,es and save-the-dates are some of the many that can be included during the process. While Meghan was getting ready, Justin and his groomsmen were also getting ready separately. Counting down the minutes until the moment finally arrives to say “I do.”

The First Touch

Once everyone had finished their final touches and slipped into their dresses, it was time for Meghan & Justin’s first touch. While many couples choose to wait until they see their partner walk down the aisle for the first time, that’s not the case for every couple. In fact, many couples choose to do a first look or a first touch for two reasons. Reason #1: get rid of those pre-wedding day jitters. Reason #2: have some more alone time & intimacy on your wedding day. Both are completely normal and valid reasons why you may choose to do a first look/first touch.

Now, the main difference is a first look is just that… a look. Your partner is surprised to see you standing their in your wedding attire, looking as beautiful as ever. A first touch, however, is a little bit different. You can touch your partner behind a tree or between two meeting walls for the first time on your wedding day. A handhold can be so incredibly powerful at this moment and leaves you still with a bit of anticipation and excitement to see them at the other end of the aisle during the ceremony. Whichever option you choose, just know that all of them hold so much power. All of them are unique and special in their own way, and it’s all dependent on what works for you and your partner. Think about what you want and value and just ROLL WITH IT.

Summer Wedding in Pennsylvania

So it’s about this time that emotions are running REALLY high, which of course, you know, means one thing. CEREMONY TIME! Meghan & Justin had their gorgeous summer wedding in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. Surrounded by acres of stunning pine trees and the sun shining down on us as its own personal spotlight… the day was just perfect. Justin saw Meghan for the first time as she walked down the aisle, locked within her father’s left arm, and his reaction was priceless. Timeless and emotional, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight, and tbh… I may or may not have shed a tear or two. I mean, I am only human, of course.

Summer Wedding Portraits

After a heartwarming ceremony, I snuck the newlyweds to do some wedding portraits. Now I don’t mean to play favorites here, but this is probably one of my favorite parts about wedding days. Me and my couples just to let loose, have fun, be creative and forget about the craziness of the wedding day. Even if it is just 20-30 minutes, it can be worth it. If you’re getting married and have hired a wedding photographer, the best piece of advice I can give you is to be yourself. Getting professional photos can be scary; trust me, I get it. The last thing any of us want is to look stiff and totally unlike ourselves on one of the most special days of our life.

Endless Dancing, Flash Photos & Jack Daniels

Okay, I’m not going to brag here, but I seriously get to work with some of the most amazing couples… like EVER. Meghan and Justin had an outdoor tent set up where they were able to enjoy some good food & drinks, be surrounded by friends & family, and dance the night away. Shoutout to Infinity Entertainment for being the ultimate DJ. As the nightfall hit, I snuck Meghan and Justin away to get some cool night portraits of course, with my trusty flash. They enjoyed a nice bottle of Jack Daniels and a quick cigar before heading back to their guests. We finished the night off with our legs basically falling off from so much dancing, but tbh… wouldn’t have it any other way.
